This project transforms a former supermarket in Stolberg, Germany, into a modern KITA kindergarten through adaptive reuse. The existing structure was reconfigured to create bright, safe, and flexible spaces for learning, play, and rest, tailored to early childhood education.
By preserving the building and reinterpreting its commercial layout, the design emphasizes natural light, clear spatial organization, and child-scaled interiors. The project demonstrates how underused commercial buildings can be sustainably converted into meaningful social infrastructure.
