This student dormitory is designed as a dynamic, elongated block that breaks away from traditional rigid geometry through a series of architectural shifts and subtractions. The design process begins with a simple rectangular mass that is articulated into three segments and “bent” to create a more fluid, welcoming footprint. Large horizontal voids are carved out of the facade to establish communal “social lungs,” while the exterior is activated by a rhythmic arrangement of protruding box balconies in vibrant yellow and teal. These cantilevered elements, combined with integrated greenery and large glazed common areas, transform a dense residential building into a playful, porous environment that prioritizes light, air, and student interaction.
